STUPINIGI

ROYAL PALACE

MOLE ANTONELLIANA
CINEMA MUSEUM

The Stupinigi Hunting Lodge is a residence, originally used for hunting activities, built for the House of Savoy.

The building, designed by Filippo Juvarra, was started in May 1729 and completed in 1733. The site, which is part of the circuit of Savoy Residences in Piedmont, has been proclaimed a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

The lodge is located in the locality of Stupinigi (a hamlet of Nichelino), on the southwestern outskirts of Turin, about 10 kilometers from the historic city center.

The Royal Palace of Turin is the first and most important of the Savoy residences in Piedmont, the stage of the politics of the Savoy kingdom for at least three centuries.
It is located in the heart of the city, in the Piazzetta Reale adjacent to the very central Piazza Castello, from which the main arteries of the historic center branch out: via Po, via Roma, via Garibaldi, and via Pietro Micca.
It represents the heart of the Savoy court, a symbol of the dynasty's power and, together with the other royal residences around Turin, such as the Venaria Reale palace, the Stupinigi hunting lodge, or the Valentino castle, is an integral part of the properties declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Symbol of the city and a daring construction, it was begun in 1862 by Alessandro Antonelli as an Israelite temple; after a suspension, work resumed in 1878 with the construction above the vault of a granite chamber, on which rest a two-story lantern and then a very tall cone that transforms the plan from square to circular.

A panoramic elevator leads to the small temple under the spire, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city and the surrounding mountains.
The Mole is currently home to the National Museum of Cinema.

MONCALIERI CASTLE

PORTA PALATINA

VENARIA ROYAL PALACE

The Porta Palatina, erroneously but commonly known in the plural as Porte Palatine, was the Porta Principalis dextera that allowed access from the north to the

Augusta Taurinorum, that is, the Roman civitas now known as Turin.

It dates back to the 1st-2nd century AD and represents, in its kind, one of the best-preserved monuments of the entire Roman world.

The Royal Palace of Venaria is one of the largest and most beautiful Savoy residences.

Designed by the architect Amedeo di Castellamonte at the behest of Duke Carlo Emanuele II, who wanted to make it his hunting residence, it was built in a very short time, from 1658 to 1679.

Imposing and sumptuous, its design was used as a model for the construction of the palace par excellence, Versailles. Since 1997, the Royal Palace of Venaria has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

One of the oldest among the Savoy residences, the Castle of Moncalieri rises in all its calm monumentality guarding the Po, not far from Turin.

Built in medieval times for defensive purposes, it was transformed by the Savoy into a "place of delights" following numerous expansions and embellishments.

Much loved by the female figures of the House of Savoy, such as Queen Maria Adelaide and the princesses Clotilde and Letizia, the castle was a place of residence, the site of the education of young princes, and the scene of sensational events: fragments of history and family memories still linger in the royal apartments, connected to the vast park that stretches over the hill.
